Bisi Bele Bath

🥘 Ingredients

  • 1 cupRice (Sona Masoori)
  • 1/2 cupToor Dal
  • 1 cup (Carrot, Beans, Peas, Potato)Mixed Vegetables
  • 2 tbspTamarind Extract
  • 2 tbspBisi Bele Bath Masala
  • 2 tbspGhee
  • 10-12Cashews
  • 1 small pieceJaggery

👨‍🍳 Instructions

Wash rice and dal. Pressure cook with turmeric and water until very soft.

Boil the mixed vegetables separately until tender but firm.

In a large pot, mix the cooked rice-dal mash and boiled vegetables.

Add tamarind extract, jaggery, salt, and bisi bele bath masala (mixed in little water).

Adjust consistency with hot water and simmer for 10 minutes.

Tempering: Heat ghee, roast cashews, mustard seeds, curry leaves, and dried red chilies.

Pour tempering over the hot rice. Serve with boondi or chips.
