- 1–1.5 cupsCooked rice (preferably leftover)
- 2–3 cups (enough to submerge rice)Drinking water

- 2–3 tbspCurd / buttermilk (optional)
- 1 small, sliced (optional)Onion
- 1 (optional)Green chili
- to servePickle / chutney
👨🍳 Instructions

Place cooked rice in a bowl. Add enough drinking water to fully cover it.

Gently break lumps. Add salt and (optional) curd/buttermilk for taste.

Cover and rest 20–30 minutes so rice softens and the water cools.

Serve with onion, green chili, pickle or chutney.

Food safety: Use only fresh leftover rice (refrigerated) and clean drinking water; do not keep at room temperature for long in hot weather.
